1 held with 10 kg gold at Dhaka airport
Customs officials detained a passenger with 103 gold bars weighing 10 kilogrammes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday (May 27) night.

Acting on a tip off, the officials held Md Abdus Salam, 48, after he landed at the airport by a Singapore Airlines flight SQ446 around 11:00pm, officers at Dhaka Customs House, told Banglanews.

A total of two hidden packets were recovered from different parts of his pants, customs officials said.

Then, 103 gold bars, weighing 100 gram each, were found inside those packets.

Salam, in his written statement, said the real owner of this gold is HM Nuruzzaman alias Jiko, a resident of Khilkhet area in Dhaka. Jiko's photographs and Photograph of his passport are available on the passenger's mobile phone. 

An officer from a company working at the airport will accept this gold and he will hand over this gold to Jiko, he added.
