Zidane hails Benzema’s brilliance
Zinedine Zidane said Karim Benzema "shuts people up a little" when he ratings goals like his beautiful volley against Valencia on Thursday.

Benzema brilliantly lifted the ball over defender Hugo Gillamon along with his right ft . and then shot along with his left in to the top corner as Madrid beat Valencia 3-0 at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

Marco Asensio had previous made it two after Benzema gave Madrid the business lead, his brace acquiring his tally for the season to 21 goals in 38 games.

"His overall performance was magnificent, just like the whole team, but his goal was incredible," said Zidane.

"We know that he's comfortable with his kept foot but wow, to lift up the ball in that way and to swing like that with his left ft ., without the ball touching the ground, truly it's an extremely complicated piece of skill.

"It's beautiful to view it and I'm cheerful for him.

"Often we find Karim as the number nine of Madrid and he must rating goals, but he doesn't simply do that. Thus when he does rating, I'm cheerful because he shuts persons up a little bit, and the task, he usually does that no real matter what."

Benzema is a controversial figure found in France after his alleged involvement found in a good blackmail plot against former teammate Mathieu Valbuena. He hasn't played for the countrywide team since 2015.

But the 32-year-old has been in sensational form for Real Madrid this year and his latest target was his 243rd for the golf club, adding him fifth on Madrid's all-time list.

"We know each one of these matches happen to be finals which means this was very important for us and for me aswell," said Benzema.

"It was a lovely goal, I think I can say it had been beautiful, it went found in and that was wonderful. Sometimes I really do that in practice and today I did so it in the match."

Meanwhile, Asensio returned with a bang. On his return to actions, he needed just 29 seconds and an individual touch to score a fine goal, before turning provider for Karim Benzema. It had been a dream go back following the serious damage he experienced in Maryland on July 24.

"We started well but from then on Valencia grew in to the game and we understood we had to improve something and push larger up the pitch, that's what we did and we won the game," said Asensio, who had a fantasy return after looking to miss the whole season before the campaign was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I feel a lot of emotion and satisfaction but there was a lot of do the job behind this goal but the most important thing is that people won and I'm below for all of those other season."
