Youth beaten dead over love affair
A young man was died on Saturday night after two days’ torture for his love affairs with a girl at Katrikpur village in Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram.
The deceased was identified as Shimul Mahajan, 22, son of late Anil Mahajan of the village, reports UNB.
Quoting locals, Sheikh Abdullah, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station, said Shimul had love affairs with the daughter of Santos Kumar Dey of the village.
Shimul went to meet his girlfriend on the Valentine's Day on February 14 when some youths detained him. Later, they tortured him for two days keeping him confined to a room.
Meanwhile, the victim's family filed a general diary with Bhujpur Police Station on Friday night over the missing of Shimul.
Later, Santos handed over the youth to the police station on Saturday and he was taken home. However, he died at night.
On information, police recovered the body from his house. They also arrested the girl's father in this connection, the OC added.
