Woman, daughter burned dead in Faridpur fire
A woman and her minor daughter were burned to death in a fire that broke out at their house in Sadar upazila of Faridpur on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Aleya Begum, wife of one Azad Mollah, and their daughter Aduri Begum, 6, of Bilmamudpur village.
Police said the fire originated from an electric short-circuit at midnight.
Aleya and Aduri, who were sleeping in a separate room, suffered severe burn injuries.
Belal Hossain, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Aleya was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) where doctors pronounced her dead while Aduri died on way to Dhaka,” the OC said.
On information, firefighters from Faridpur rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire which had already burnt three houses.
