Will Rishi be replaced in Deepika's film?
With Rishi Kapoor indisposed again, the prestigious remake of Hollywood film 'The Intern', with Rishi performing DeepikaPadukone'smentor is currently a project in jeopardy. The film must wait or get re-cast, as Rishi is unlikely to consider up any do the job until he recovers his well being. Apparently, co-producers Deepika Padukone and Sunir Khetrapal have taken a contact to re-cast Rishi's part.
Says a source, "The other evident choice for the purpose was Amitabh Bachchan Saab. But Deepika has recently done a fine film, 'Piku', with Bachchan Saab. She was very keen on dealing with Chintuji, whom she's referred to and admired for years. Unfortunately, with issues turning out the way they have, it appears unlikely that untried casting combination may happen." It is not clear at the moment that'll be cast in the remake of 'The Intern'.
In the original Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway played the mentor and protégée. Certainly India's De NiroNaseeruddin Shah may be the answer? Rishi Kapoor had suddenly used ill in Delhi in January. He was shortly discharged and he released press statements stating it was just an infection due to Delhi's infamous pollution.
However, sources close to the Kapoor family say Rishi is normally in denial. "He's simply being stubborn. That is increasing the family's growing panic. Before cure procedure is decided on, he must accept that he's unwell. However, like the first period when the condition struck, he is not willing to accept the truth."
