The waters at 28 points of 17 key rivers of the united states are flowing above the danger levels, in line with the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) beneath the  Bangladesh Water Creation Board (BWDB) on Tuesday evening.

Some 6.15 lakh persons in 20 worst affected districts of the united states have become marooned as a result of floods due to onrush of water from the upstream Indian states of Assam and Meghalaya, and torrential rains over the last several days.

So far, 22 persons have died due to drowning in these districts.

Based on the estimate simply by the Ministry of Agriculture, crops well worth Tk 349 crore have been damaged simply by the flood.

The Met office forecasts that heavy rain may fall in the country's northern and north-eastern regions between your next 24 and 72 hours just like the last several days. As a result of rains, the normal water levels in the rivers Brahmaputra, Jamuna, Dharla and Teesta of the northern place, and higher Meghna  of the northeatern area, and major rivers in the hilly areas may climb very quickly. It could deteriorates the prevailing flood condition and creating flash flood in refreshing areas.

During the next a day, the flood situation might remain secure in Kurigram, Gaibandha, Bogura, Jamalpur, Sirajganj, Tangail, Manikganj, Natore, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajbari, Shariatpur and the low-lying areas in Dhaka district, explained the FFWC.

However, the flood situation in Sunamganj and Syhet districts could deteriorate further.
