Victorious start for Bangladesh in Street Child Cricket WC
The Bangladesh team won both their opening fixtures yesterday in the inaugural Street Child Cricket World Cup being played in England.

Eight players were selected for the event scheduled to be played from April 30 till May 8, organised by Street Child United. The participating children all grew up in the facilities and under the guidance of Leedo, a member organization of the Bangladesh Shishu Ashikar Forum (BSAF).

The Bangladesh team beat Mauritius by 17 runs in their opening match after posting 48 for no loss in the stipulated six overs at Cambridge. In the next game they restricted West Indies to 11/1 before winning the match with six wickets and 15 deliveries to spare.

Bangladesh lost their third match of the day to South India by 17 runs. At the end of the day’s proceedings Bangladesh are fifth in the standings. Tanzania are currently leading the standings.
