US Embassy closed Thursday for Shab-e-Barat, Tuesday for Pahela Boishakh
The United States Embassy, like the Consular Section, will be closed today (April 9), in observance of Shab-e-Barat, and on Tuesday (April 14), in observance of Bengali New Year, says a news release.

Emergency services for Americans will be available on both holidays. Please call (88) (02) 5566-2000 to consult with the duty officer.

The U.S. Embassy will maintain normal working hours April 12-13 and April 15-16 and thereafter, including providing emergency services for American citizens.

Because of the government holiday, public transportation will be limited, and Americans with appointments may experience difficulty addressing the Embassy.

If an appointment needs to be rescheduled, contact the Consular Section at (88) (02) 5566-2000.
