US-Bangla airlines to start flights to China
The announcement was made by the company’s Managing Director Abdullah Al Mamun at its 2nd Customer Success Summit at a hotel in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday evening.
He said: “All the necessary arrangements have been made and the long wait for direct flights to China is finally about to end.”
Beginning on April 3, the flight will run thrice a week according to the private airline, making it the first Bangladeshi air service to have a route to the country.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal said: “The runway at Cox’s Bazar airport will be extended to 10,000 feet so as to enable larger planes such as the Boeing-777 to land. The government is working on this project.”
The event featured Shahjahan Kamal as chief guest with the Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benoit Préfontaine, ATAB President Monzur Morshed Mahabub, and over 800 travel agents and corporate figures from Bangladesh and various other Asian countries also present.
