UP member arrested over rape of schoolgirl in Barisal
A Union Parishad (UP) member of Rajapur Upazila in Jhalokati district of the division was arrested in a rape case on Sunday (October 7).
Galluya UP member Babul Talukder was arrested for raping a ninth grader, 14, in Charrakhali village of the upazila on September 23.
Babul Talukder, son of late Montaj Talukder, hailed from Charrakhali village of the upazila.
The case, however, was filed against Babul Talukder along with 2 others on September 25, said Shamsul Arefin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajapur Police station.
