Health and wellbeing minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries says she's been identified as having coronavirus.

Ms Dorries, the initial MP to test positive, said she had taken all the advised precautions after learning, and have been self-isolating at home.

It comes just as a sixth person died from the virus in the UK, that includes a total of 382 cases.

The most recent person to die was a guy in his early 80s who had underlying health conditions.

On the other hand, NHS England said it had been scaling up its capacity for testing persons for the an infection, with the amount of cases set to rise.

That may mean 10,000 testing a day can be done - currently 1,500 are being completed.

Confirmation of any positive test results may also be accelerated with most of the people getting a result rear within 24 hours.

Ms Dorries, the MP for Mid Bedfordshire, said found in a statement that People Well being England had started tracing people she had had contact with, and the section and her parliamentary business office were closely following its advice.

The 62-year-old, who began her career as a nurse, soon after tweeted that it turned out "pretty rubbish but I am hoping I'm over the worst of it now".

But she added she was concerned about her 84-year-old mother who was simply sticking to her and began to cough on Tuesday.

It isn't known just how many meetings Ms Dorries had attended at Westminster or perhaps in her constituency found in recent days.

The Department of Overall health said she first showed symptoms on Thursday - the same day she attended a Downing Road event hosted by the prime minister - and have been self-isolating since Friday.

No 10 did not touch upon whether Boris Johnson had undergone assessment, or whether he'll now be tested.

All health ministers, including Health Secretary Matt Hancock, are to undergo testing for the virus, and also other officials who have come into contact with Ms Dorries.

Mr Hancock tweeted that she had "carried out the proper thing" by self-isolating in the home and wished "her good as she recovers".

He added: "I am aware why people come to mind relating to this disease. We can do all we are able to to keep people safe, based on the perfect science."
