Transfer Update: Salah
Despite Jurgen Klopp having insisted Mohamed Salah is not for sale, there has reportedly been a significant new development over the African superstar's links with Saudi Arabia.

Speaking this weekend following Liverpool's incredible comeback win over Newcastle United in the Premier League, the German tactician reiterated that the winger would not be heading anywhere.

Those comments came amid rumours that Salah had informed the Reds of his wish to leave, amid interest from Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad. While it appears unclear as to whether or not the Egypt international did ask to be sold, speculation continues to suggest that a mammoth bid for his services from the Saudi side could be on the way.

According to United States-based publication CBS, Al Ittihad would be willing to pay £130 million (R3 billion) for his signature and offer the 31-year-old around £170 million (R3.9 billion) a season.

The deal would see Salah earn close to what Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar earn at Al Nassr and Al Hilal, respectively, which would see him become one of the best-paid athletes in the world.

Salah, however, only signed his latest contract extension at Liverpool 12 months ago, and is considered crucial to Klopp's plans for the foreseeable future.

The ex-Chelsea winger has contributed to three goals in as many matches in the Premier League so far this season, with the Reds set to take on Aston Villa this coming weekend.
