Tk 58cr allotted for jute mill workers’ wages for June
The federal government has allocated Tk 58 crore to pay the state-run jute mill workers’ credited wages for the month of June.
The wages will be given to individual lender accounts through cheques.
Financing Ministry allotted the money on Sunday (July 5).
Earlier at a press briefing about Fri (July 3), Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi said employees’ wages for the month of June can be paid right to their lender accounts within weekly in line with the National Wage and Efficiency Commission-2015.
The fund was allocated for employees of all jute mills, except Alim Jute Mill Ltd, registered under Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC), he said.
On Thursday (July 2), the government shut down all of the 25 state-work jute mills registered in BJMC because of renovation works.
Earlier in the morning, Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina made the decision after holding a gathering with officials concerned found in Ganabhaban.
