The upcoming key dates around Kylian Mbappe's future
In the letter that PSG sent to Kylian Mbappe on 3 July, the club formally called on the player to make a decision by 31 July, after the first contacts in which they had already made it clear that he would either renew his contract or accept a sale this summer had failed to make any progress.

The club claims that a meeting is "urgent" in order to find together "the best solution for both parties, i.e. a renewal for the 24-25 season or an exit in this same market".

The club insists that these are the two solutions to help the club avoid a period of paralysis with regards to their future plans caused by the player's "recent decisions", says the three-page letter, MARCA understands.

This comes in response to the two that the player sent earlier to first announce his desire not to renew his contract and a second to explain the reasons in more detail.

But from today until the last day of the month, there are more dates that could mark Mbappe's future.

In seven days he would have to return to the squad if there is no agreement before then.

Mbappe, who has been in Cameroon on a visit and now goes to Algeria, has to return to work next Monday, 17 July, along with the rest of the internationals.

Luis Enrique has started today with most of his squad, including Neymar, and the first date given by Nasser Al-Khelaifi to solve the conflict (he spoke of ten days and two weeks maximum to several Galician media after the presentation of Luis Enrique) coincides with that 17 July.

The PSG president, who according to several French media outlets, also received complaints from up to six players about Kylian's comments saying that winning the  Ballon d'Or at PSG was very complicated, would thus try to ensure that the striker does not have to present himself with the rest of the squad and avoid this whole situation affecting the atmosphere in the squad and the work of the new coach.22 July: promotional trip to Japan
PSG travel for their tour of Japan on 22 July. Another key date.

It is normal that if his future has not been resolved, he will travel with the rest of the squad. It is clear that he is the big attraction of the tour and even more so with Messi's departure.

A drastic decision would be to leave the top star in Paris as a measure of pressure or perhaps because he is already working out his departure.

The player, for his part, intends to go ahead with his position and, therefore, be on the tour with the rest of the team and be integrated as one more in Luis Enrique's squad.

25 July: first friendly and Luis Enrique decides
Three days into the tour, PSG play their first friendly in Osaka at the Yanmar Nagaid Stadium.

There is a first match at the training center on 21 July at the new training center in Poissy, but Luis Enrique will normally not count on him as he would have to work for four days.

However, for the match in Japan, the coach's decision counts a lot. From the coach's decision, we may know more about the club's plans for the policy to be followed in the Mbappe case.

On 28 July there is another friendly against Cerezo Osaka and on 1 August against Inter in Tokyo before returning to Paris.

31 July: key date in his current contract
Legally, Mbappe is under contract with the option to renew for a further year, until 2025, if he gives notice before 31 July.

PSG remain open to this option, as Al Khelaifi said, but the striker has expressed the opposite in his letter of 12 June. So, it seems an option almost ruled out.

Also, 31 July is the deadline set by the club in its letter to the player to agree on renewal or sale. From 1 August, the club will continue to listen to offers, but the strategy to be followed is still unknown.

His automatic renewal would already be ruled out, but the club has already proposed a new contract to the player on several occasions and in its letter the club assures that there have been several meetings in that sense.

PSG play their first Ligue 1 match at the Parc des Princes on 13 August.
