Tamim to wait a little longer as West Indies bat first
The two-and-a-half month wait for star Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal to bat in a competitive match just became three and a half hours longer as West Indies won the toss and chose to bat in their warm-up match against BCB XI at the BKSP in Savar.

While Tamim will have to field 50 overs before donning gloves and pads to face the West Indian quicks, Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who last played an international game in the third ODI against Zimbabwe in late October, will be in action pretty soon.

Bangladesh's highest run-scorer in ODI and Tests, Tamim has missed the home series against Zimbabwe and the Test leg of West Indies tour of Bangladesh with a left knuckle fracture sustained during the opening match of the Asia Cup in the UAE on September 15. He was slated to make a comeback in the firs Test against West Indies, but suffered a setback when he suffered a side strain while batting in the nets on November 13.

It is a strong BCB XI side featuring eight members of the Bangladesh ODI squad -- Mashrafe, Tamim, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mithun, Ariful Haque, Nazmul Islam Apu and Rubel Hossain -- that will take on West Indies in the three-match ODI series from December 9.
