Syed Ashraf’s body taken to Sangsad Bhaban
The body of Public Administration Minister and former Awami League (AL) general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam has been taken to Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban's south plaza in the capital on Sunday morning from mortuary of CMH.
The veteran politician's first namaj-e-janaza will be held there around 10:30am.
After the janaza , Syed Ashraf's body will be taken to Kishoreganj later on the day, from where the AL leader was elected member of parliament (MP) five times. There his second namaj-e-janaza will be held at old stadium ground in the district town at noon.
His third janaza will be held at Mymensingh Anjuman Eidgah ground at 2pm.
Syed Ashraf, a popular figure in the arena of politics, will be laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard in Dhaka at 4.30pm.
Earlier on Saturday, the body of Syed Ashraful, who died at a hospital in Bangkok on Thursday, reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6pm.
After receiving the body by his relatives at the airport, it will be taken to his official residence in Bailey road where it stayed from 7pm-9pm for all walks of people to pay their last respect.
Later, the body will be kept at the mortuary of Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
