Suspected drug peddler killed in ‘gun-battle’
A suspected drug dealer was killed in a shootout between two gangs in Buripota village in Sadar upazila of Meherpur district in early Thursday.
Sadar Police Station OC Rabiul Islam Khan said on secret information about a gunfight between two gangs of drug traders at Buripota around 2:30am, a patrol team of police went to the spot and found the bullet hit body.
Police suspected that the man was a ‘drug trader’ and gun-battle might have took place between the gangs over drug smuggling.
The body was sent to Meherpur Geneal Hospital morgue.
A shutter gun and 30 bottles of Phensedyl recovered from the scene.
