Spinners lead Tigers to win
Taijul Islam bagged five wickets for the third successive Test while fellow spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played their part as Bangladesh sealed an easy 64-run win against West Indies in the first Test.
The visitors needed 204 in their second innings to win the game, but Shakib and Taijul bagged two wickets each inside six overs to send West Indies on the backfoot.
Four of the visitors' first five batsmen failed to reach double digits, Sunil Ambris being the exception, with 43 runs.
Ambris and Jomel Warrican (41) made 63 in the ninth wicket to give West Indies a little hope, yet the Bangladesh bowlers held firm to ensure the win.
Shimron Hetmyer hit 27 off just 19 balls.
When Shakib made opener Kieran Powell give a catch behind the wicket to send the first batsman to the pavilion, he netted his 200th Test scalp, the first Bangladeshi to do so.
And it made him the fastest to reach 200 wickets and 3000 runs in Test cricket. Shakib joined the elite club in 54 matches, surpassing the previous record of Ian Botham, who needed 55 games.
In the morning, Bangladesh could add 70 to their overnight total of 55 for 5, thanks to a 31-run innings from Mahmudullah.
Devendra Bishoo bagged four wickets for West Indies as the Tigers were bundled out for 125 in the second innings.
