South Africa postpones unique three-team fixture
Cricket South Africa has been forced to postpone its trial of three-crew cricket after failing to win federal government backing for the initial date of June 27 over concerns about preparations following a COVID-19 pandemic.

CSA had hoped to level the initial fixture that would visit a trio of sides compete in a single 36-over match in SuperSport Park around Pretoria for what is a go back to cricket for famous brands Abdominal de Villiers, Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada.

"The operational clubs behind the Solidarity meet and event partners, in collaboration with Cricket South Africa, 3TCricket and SuperSport, met to consider the readiness to web host the event in June 27," CSA said in a statement.

"Third , meeting, it is becoming clear that more do the job is necessary in preparation, including (federal government) approval."

When the fixture is played, teams of eight players will bat for a total of 12 overs, six per innings, where time they'll face both opponents in the field.

At nov the seventh wicket, the go on remaining batsman can keep on, but only score in even numbers, twos, four or a six.

The team with the highest aggregate total towards the end of the overall game will be declared the winners.

South Africa is still seeing a steady rise in COVID-19 situations, with the province of Gauteng, where the fixture is to be played, reporting a good sharp upsurge in the past week.
