Six-day television drama festival begins at Public Library
A six-day long television drama festival 'Annada Alo- Charuneedam short-length drama festival 2019' began in the capital yesterday.
The inaugural ceremony of the event held yesterday at 5pm at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Public Library in Shahbagh. The 11th edition of the festival will screen a total of 23 popular short-length dramas which were aired on different satellite channels in 2018.
On the opening day, three dramas 'Amitrakkhar' directed by Abul Hayat, 'Mon Jamunay Dhew' by Borno Nath and 'Bisarjan 71' by Sumon Anwar screened at 7pm, 7:45pm and 8:45pm respectively.
Earlier, all channels decided to stop the airing of the one-hour length drama in 2008 while Charunirom started campaigning with the slogan 'Revive the one-hour length television drama'.The organization Charuneedam has been arranging the short-length drama festival and conferring award since 2009 to continue its (short-length drama) smooth airing.
