Shooters improve but nonetheless fall short of target
Bangladesh's premier shooters made slight advancements when it comes to scores, yet fell brief of medal contention in the Singapore Online Shooting Competition, which took place today.
Bangladesh had eight male and six woman shooters in air flow rifle and pistol events, most of whom had featured in the Asian Online Shooting Championship which had taken place earlier in the week.
While none of the 14 shooters managed to win a medal today, some improved on the individual scores from the prior event.
Shakil Ahmed finished eighth found in the ultimate round of 10m oxygen pistol function after scoring 575 points in the qualification round earlier in the day. Shakil, a siilver medallist in 2018 Commonwealth Games, had scored 566 tips in the Asian Online Capturing Championship.
In women's 10m air pistol event, Armin Asha done seventh while Anjila Amjad done eighth.
Meanwhile, two-time Commonwealth Games silver medallist Abdullahel Baki finished fourth found in 10m surroundings rifle event. Baki, who had have scored 619.3 points in the last event, scored 623.2 tips today in qualification round. Reasatul Islam done seventh in the same event while Syeda Atkia Hasan completed sixth in women's 10m air flow rifle event.
Unlike the Asian Online Shooting Championship where in fact the top shooters from 22 countries of the continent took portion, today's event featured shooters from only seven countries, namely Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey and Singapore.
