Shizen Energy takes minority stake in Tokyo-based Bison Energy
Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc said last week that its subsidiary Shizen International Inc has purchased a minority equity share in Tokyo-based green power company Bison Energy Group. For Shizen Energy, the partnership gives the firm access to new regions in Asia-Pacific while Bison Energy will be able to debut into new business areas such as corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), wind power and other renewable energy projects.

“We are excited to enter into this partnership with Bison to collaboratively expand Shizen Energy Group’s footprint into strategic markets including new markets in Asia-Pacific where Bison has more than 1GW of pipeline under development,” added Alvin Koh, Shizen Malaysia CEO who has also been appointed as a Director of Bison Energy Group.

Established in 2016, Bison Energy is currently present in five countries and has a 3-GW solar generation target by 2025.
