Scarlett spoiled the film's ending a month ago
Even as the world scrambled to find out more about 'Avengers: Endgame' in the months leading up to the release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe saga in April, it has now emerged that the film's 'Black Widow', Scarlett Johansson, had spoiled its climax on Jimmy Kimmel's Live but nobody noticed. (Spoilers ahead)
It has now emerged that Scarlett wasn't joking when she spoke up on Jimmy's show. The actor was seen along with 'Iron Man' Robert Downey Jr., 'Thor' Chris Hemsworth, and 'Ant Man' Paul Rudd when she gave away the film's end."I feel like this is the last gathering of the 'Avengers' on this show," Jimmy said, to which Robert replied, "Well, the future is very uncertain". At this, Scarlett added, "Don't lie to him, we're never coming back." She then laughed, passing the comment off as a joke.
'Avengers Endgame' sees the six original Avengers take one last stand to travel back in time to steal the six Infinity Stones in order to bring back the Decimated. They also go head-to-head against Thanos so that half the universe can be brought back to life. Among those who lay down their lives is Black Widow who sacrifices herself so Hawkeye could get the Soul Stone. Iron Man dies in the final face-off against Thanos.
Meanwhile, Scarlett has said that the much-anticipated stand-alone film on her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character, 'Black Widow', will happen when the time is right. Johansson has played Black Widow aka Natasha Romanova since 2010's Iron Man 2 and her latest outing as the character is 'Avengers: Endgame'.
"I think everything happens when it's supposed to. All I'll say is that I think I have a greater understanding of the character now than I ever possibly could have had before. Whatever iteration you see of this character, may or may not see of this character in the future, will be the better because of it," the actor told Variety.
