Saif coach Paul Put resigns
Country’s leading outfit Saif Sporting Club's Belgian coach Paul Placed on Friday resigned from his position citing spouse and children reasons.

Saif SC General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Sumon verified The Daily Sun about his sudden decision.

“It had been his (Paul) personal decision. He informed us that he possesses decided due to relatives reasons. The club has nothing to do in cases like this,” he said.
Sumon said their local coach Zulfiker Mahmud Mintu will need the charge of the workforce until they appoint a new coach.

Paul, who coached five national teams incorporating Gambia, Burkina Faso, Jordan, Kenya and Guinea and also many clubs, became a member of the Bangladeshi area last October.

His career was packed with controversies as the Belgian was handed a three-season suspension by Royal Belgian Soccer Association for his alleged involvement in a match-fixing scandal in 2007.

He was also sacked and received an eternity ban by Guinea Football Federation in 2019 because of breaching the institution's code of ethics and code of discipline.

Paul, who replaced Serbian-born Croatian Drago Mamic, took Saif SC to the Federation Cup final for the very first time in January this year where they lost to Bashundhara Kings 0-1.

Saif SC are in fifth place in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League with 16 points from 10 games.
