Razzak's heroine was changed many times in 'Sandhi'
Razzak-starrer film 'Sandhi' premiered on the event of Eid-ul-Fitr in 1987. Produced by Zohra Gazi and directed by Gazi Mazharul Anowar, was the commercially most successful film. For the reason that Eid, Momtaz Ali's Niyot, AJ Mintu's Lalu Mastan and Shah Alam Kiron's 'Niyotir Khela' had been also released on the same event. But these three films could not become commercially successful like 'Sandhi'.
At first, popular heroine Shabana was scheduled to job against Razzak in the film. But unknown purpose, Shabana didn't work for the reason that film in the future."It was more than three decades ago, Shabana got scheduled to job. But she couldn't be a part of shooting of the film.
Then I made contact with noted Indian film actress Shabana Azmi to take up the part of heroine. After hearing history of the film, she decided to work but didn't match her plan that time. Later, I took plan from Indian another observed actress Rakhee Gulzar.
Few days ago of beginning shooting of the film, she educated that she became sick and may not have the ability to take part in shooting. But I had taken program from Nayok Raz, Razzak. There was absolutely difficult to skip his plan. I QUICKLY communicated with heroine Shabnam in Pakistan. During that period she was in London.
After hearing my name and story of the film, she decided to work. She found Dhaka from London and accomplished capturing of the film 'Sandhi' at the same time. After releasing the film, how very long the film continued housefull which I cannot remember nowadays,"stated director of the film Gazi Mazharul Anowar. "While making the film it spent Tk 51 lakh and earned a lot more than Tk 3 crore during that time.
