Quader terms students’ protest over road mishaps logical
Road Transport & Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader expressed consent with the agitating students terming their demonstrations over road accidents are logical.
“The prime minister herself has taken initiatives. She has ordered to retrieve discipline,” he said.
The minister was briefing the media at the Setu Bhaban in Mohakahali Wednesday (August 1).
Quader said a new law of road-transport will be approved at the cabinet meeting Monday (August 6), to bring the road mishaps under control.
He expressed high hopes that the new law would reclaim safety in roads.
However, he sought cooperation from the transport staff in this regard.
On Wednesday, students of various educational institutes blocked roads in separate points of the capital city for the fourth consecutive day, to protest the deaths of two college students in Airport Road crash.
