'Poramon 2' to release in 5 countries
Romantic drama film 'Poramon 2', which is running at 87 cinemas across the country following its release in the Eid-ul-Fitr, will hit cinemas in five countries between last week of August and first week of September.
Raihan Rafi's film, starring debutant Siam Ahmed and Puja Cherry, will be released in Singapore, Australia, France, Canada and USA, said its producer Abdul Aziz, the chairman of Jaaz Multimedia.In Singapore, the film will be released under the banner of Raduga Production on August 9.
The film is going to be premiered at Carnival Cinemas located at 100 Beach Road, Shaw Towers in Singapore.Written and directed by Raihan Rafi, the film 'Poramon 2' was released in 22 cinema halls in Bangladesh during last Eid-ul-Fitr. Later the number of hall was increased due to its success.
With 'Poramon 2', Siam made his first ever big screen appearance where he plays the role of a daring village lad called Shujon, while Puja acts as a poor school-going village girl named Pari.
Their love evolves through their friendship. However, the plot of this heart-wrenching love story will take a turn for the bad and end on a sad note for the star-crossed lovers.
The film featured a special song paying tribute to the late iconic hero Salman Shah.Apart from Siam Ahmed and Puja Cherry, the cast of the film includes Bapparaj, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Anwara and Jannatul Ferdous Peya, among others.
Bangladeshi television drama director said about the film, "While watching 'Poramon 2', it never occurred to me that I am watching a traditional Bangladeshi love story. To me, Poramon 2 was a shining Bangladeshi love story.With smart cinematography, everyone acted really well.
The total arrangement was beautiful and the locations were excellent. After a long time I was fortunate to see how beautiful our country was through Poramon 2."To note, 'Poramon 2' had its first premier after getting selected for the Marche du Film section in the Cannes Film Festival.
