Poor dyeing models and textile imports concern areas for Vietnam, say experts
Despite being the next biggest exporter of textile and readymade garments globally, Vietnam is yet to fully exploit its true potentials, because of its incompetent dyeing conveniences and its increasing dependence on imported fabrics.

This is underlined by some authorities recently.

“Because of the reliance on imported fabric, companies have lost their creativeness and so cannot add worth…,” said Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association even though speaking to the media.

As per available figures, Found in 2017, Vietnam imported 6.5 billion metres of fabric, or two-thirds of the industry`s total requirement.

Due to the fact 750,000 tonnes of Vietnam’s fibres (two-third) produce way overseas at decreased prices each year, the increasing fabric imports sound rather contradictory. Sector insiders blame the poor production of the dyeing segment for the same.

Developing the fabric and dyeing segments would be the main factor in the expansion of the garment and textile industry, said Tuan while contacting for establishing professional zones specialising in dyeing and cloth production in the country.

Sector insiders further added that the neighborhood companies lack proper knowing of the dyeing procedure alongside technology, recruiting and skills necessary to develop this sector.
