Poet Al Mahmud laid to rest
Al Mahmud, one of the country's leading poet, was laid to rest beside the grave of his parents at Dakshin Morail graveuard in Brahmanbaria district town on Sunday afternoon.
He was buried at about 3pm after the final funeral prayers at Niaz Mohammad High School ground.
A host of relatives, admirers and people from all walks of life attended the janaza.
Al Mahmud was hospitalised on February 8. He had been suffering from multiple old-age complications for a long time.
He died at city's Ibn Sina Hospital on Friday night at the age 82.
