PM monitoring Subir Nandi’s treatment
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is constantly monitoring the treatment of critically ill Ekushey Padak-winning singer Subir Nandi, said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said singers Kumar Biswajit, Tapan Chowdhury, Rafiqul Alam and noted physician Dr Samanta Lal Sen on Friday met the premier at Ganabhaban to apprise her of the updates of the treatment of the legendary singer, BSS reports.
Earlier, on behalf of the prime minister, her Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua went to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the city to enquire about the treatment of Subir Nandi.
Biplab Barua also talked with his wife and daughter. Musician Subir Nandi has been on life support at the CMH since April 15.
The prime minister directed Dr Samanta Lal Sen to send all medical papers of Subir Nandi to Singapore and take opinion of the expert physicians of that country.
“Steps will be taken later accordingly,” she said.
The premier told the delegation of singers that earlier she gave all-kinds of cooperation for Subir Nandi’s treatment for two times in 1998.
