PM foresees ties around reaching higher heights in coming days
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, saying she foresees the bilateral relationship reaching higher heights in the coming days.
"Indeed, I anticipate working closely with you in attaining those ideals as well as in effectively confronting the evils of terrorism, violent extremism, hatred, forced displacements as of the Rohingyas, and for the realization of a safer and an improved world," the Prime Minister wrote in her message to Biden, reports UNB.
On behalf of the government and the persons of Bangladesh, and on her behalf behalf, Hasina conveyed warmest congratulations to Biden on his victory in the Nov 3 presidential election. Biden can be the 46th President of America after he's sworn in on Jan 20.
"I really believe your resounding victory reflects the profound trust and confidence the persons of your great country have in your extraordinary leadership tested over four decades of devotion and dedication towards their welfare, and that of the united states," she sid.
Hasina said she also believes that their sagacity and astute stewardship will also energise the united states in leading the world right into a new era of global peace, and international cooperation in securing prosperity, and unity in facing the challenges of climate change.
Bangladesh, since its independence in 1971, has forged an outstanding and durable relationship with the US, Hasina said. "Now with you in the helm of affairs of your country, I foresee the partnership reaching higher heights in the coming days."
