Petrol pump strike in 3 divisions on
An indefinite strike, enforced by Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Malik-Sramik Oikya Parishad, began on Sunday in Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions to press home their 15-point demands.
Sale and transportation of fuel at all petrol pumps in the three divisions remained shut from 6am following the strike.
MA Momin Dulal, central vice-president of Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners' Association, said they went on the strike as their demands were not met by November 30.
The association's leaders announced the strike on Friday.
Earlier on November 26, they gave an ultimatum until November 30 to fulfill their 15-point demand.
