Parambrata stays positive despite Tollywood hit hard by COVID
Halls are shutting down, shooting stalled no production house wants to release films. How the future of Bengali cinema appears like nowadays? Actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay who just lately started a COVID pain relief center with Riddhi Sen, Anupam Roy and others seems it will take time to return back to normalcy. He expectations in five-six months circumstance will improve.
"Even films like Sooryavanshi will be stalled. Salman Khan produced his film on the OTT system. Bollywood's only benefit is that they get reasonably good prices from the significant OTT systems. We don't possess that high end. Without a little of theatrical launch, we cannot recover the price. So we must wait. After this second wave, I doubt if the visitors will immediately get confident about heading back to theatres even if they reopen in per month or so.
Things will need time - maybe found in another five to six months, things will come to be better. We are looking for certainly not cry over how everything's around. We've seen difficult moments. There was a 100-day-long strike in '70s. We will survive this as well," shares Parambrata during a special speak to ETimes. His dream job 'Abhijaan', the Soumitra Chattopadhyay biopic, has also been stalled. "We will work hard to finish the film since there is a event invite. We've completed the background score and the last phase of audio is going on," adds Parambrata.
Meanwhile, a significant talking point inside our COVID deal with offers been the participation of youngsters. In Bengal specifically, the youth features been powering initiatives for a few months now. Many of them are also working with Parambrata as well and he feels proud to observe them working tirelessly on the floor.
