Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Indonesian Embassy kick off Taste of Indonesia food festival
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia are jointly organising a weeklong Indonesian food festival called "Taste of Indonesia" from August 30 to September 6 at the hotel's signature restaurant Cafe Bazar.
The food festival aims to celebrate the authentic culinary diversities Indonesia has to offer.
"Indonesia has 17,000 islands and several ethnic groups. Hence, you can only imagine how many varieties of food Indonesia's culinary art offers. The festival will offer the best cuisines from each of the region each day."
Murni Nyaristi, Third Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia made the statement at a press conference held today at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.
Kazi Moazzem Hossain, Assistant Director, F&B and Krisnamurti Damarjati, Executive Chef from Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka were also present on the occasion among Guest Chef Eko Cahyo.
Eko is a renowned Indonesian chef from Hotel Ambhara Jakarta who will be enthralling the guests with his mouthwatering delights during the festival. He claimed to serve "authentic food from the Indonesian Archipelago" to the guests.
Flavourful Beef Rendang, Indonesian Laksa, Gado-Gado, Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup) and many other luscious Indonesian dishes will treat the guests at the Indonesian buffet spread at the festival.
The Third Secretary further mentioned that this is the first time the embassy is doing such a food festival in Bangladesh. "The purpose of the festival is not only to introduce authentic culinary delicacies to the people of Bangladesh but also to strengthen 'people to people' contact."
During the festival, guests will also get to enjoy the vibrant culture of Indonesia through live cultural performances by Indonesian performers.
The buffet dinner will start from 6:30 pm and is priced at BDT4000 net per person.
