Padma Bridge: 2nd span installation underway

MUNSHIGANJ: Around 300 meters of Padma Bridge has been visible as the second span 7B (Super structure) of the bridge is placed on the 38 and 39 pillars.
The span installation process started on Saturday morning (January 27).
Earlier, The 150 meter long and 3,140 tonnes weight span was carried by a massive crane from Mawa to Jajira point.
The span will be permanently wielded after placing the span on pillars which will take 3-4 hours.
A total of 41 massive spans will be positioned on 42 pillars of the 6.15 kilometers long Padma Bridge. The main structure of the double-storey bridge will be constructed by concrete and steel.
