The finish of Liverpool's long wait for a league championship was celebrated over the English media on Friday with most choosing the headline "Champions" as the Daily Star, in a nod with their manager, declared these were "On "Klopp of the World."

Juergen Klopp's area sealed an initial league title found in three decades on Thursday when Manchester Town were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea, sparking crazy celebrations on Merseyside regardless of the pandemic.

"Smashing Crystal Palace 4-0 on Wednesday, exhibiting all the category of champions a lot more than 20 items clear of an excellent City, ... felt just like the type of emphatic declaration of excellence these strange moments required," Matt Dickinson wrote in THE CHANGING TIMES.

"No dependence on asterisks -- this success is deserved, and momentous. Liverpool have enjoyed great European triumphs but there is something about domestic dominance that brings a deeper, richer good sense of pride."

Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail said Liverpool's campaign came close to topping the accomplishment of Leicester Town in winning the 2015-16 title.

"It is the many incredible title triumph found in Liverpool's record, and arguably the very best delivered by at the very top club in the Premier League era. As annoying as it might sound with their bitter rivals, that one does indeed mean more. It is a rewriting of the record books few can have expected this past year ...

"It is the season of most seasons, the advertising campaign of most campaigns."

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher explained he was pleased to be proved wrong after writing in a good 2017 column that he was not convinced Klopp had the opportunity to win the title.

"Klopp attained Anfield saying he wanted to move doubters into believers. I was one of those who had given up expectation," Carragher wrote in The Telegraph.  "It gives me the best pleasure to admit these text nowadays seem misjudged. In my own defence ... no person took me to process for the remarks at that time."
