No clearance to 'Tui Shudhu Amar'
The preview committee for Indo-Bangla joint venture films has denied providing primary clearance to the film 'Tui Shudhu Amar' for its failure to comply with policies set by the Bangladesh government for jointly produced films.
The committee, however, gave approval to the screenplay before shooting, the authorities of Action Cut Entertainment, the production house of 'Tui Shudhu Amar', said. The production house sent the film to the preview committee in Bangladesh before Eid-ul-Fitr. The committee at that time denied clearance to it saying that the makers did not follow the guidelines for joint productions.
The film's director and producer Anonno Mamun said the committee was reviewing the film under joint-venture film policy 2017 while it was made under the policy of 2012.A film has to be shot in equal portion within the geographical boundaries of the countries producing the film, the new policy said.
The film was not shot either in India or Bangladesh as the story is about people who live in London, Anonno Mamun added. However, 'Tui Shudhu Amar' got clearance from the Indian preview committee and censor board and is scheduled to be released in West Bengal during Eid-ul-Azha.
"The film got clearance in India as the committee had understood the demand of story. But Bangladeshi preview committee did not give the clearance yet," he added.
Referring to his appeal to the information ministry, Mamun said, "I have invested a lot. I sought the ministry's pardon if any mistakes happen. Now I am waiting for the clearance."
Meanwhile, the film's Indian production house SK Movies has begun their promotional activities. Managing director Ashok Dhanuna said, "We have received the clearance before a month.
Hopefully it will be released on Eid-ul-Azha."Indian director for the film is Joydeep Mukherjee. Dhallywood actress Mahia Mahi, Syed Hasan Imam, Rebeka and popular Indian actors Soham and Om starred in the film.
