Newly-elected MPs sworn in
Newly-elected members of parliament (MPs) were sworn in on Thursday morning, reports UNB.

Outgoing speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury first took oath herself as an MP and then administered the oath to other MPs at the oath room of the Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban.

Senior secretary of parliament secretariat Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath-taking ceremony that began at 11:00am.

Awami League members including prime mininster Sheikh Hasina were present on the occasion.

The other elected MPs will take oath later, though it is still uncertain whether the five elected MPs of BNP and two of Gano Forum will take oath or not.
