National Bank's Tk 80 lakh missing from microbus
As much as Tk 80 lakh of National Lender Limited went missing when different crores of taka of the lender were being taken up to Motijheel from Islampur in the administrative centre on Sunday afternoon.
Muntasirul Islam, DC of Lalbagh Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Law enforcement (DMP), said some crores of taka were being taken up to Motijheel collecting from numerous branches of the lender in old component of Dhaka. Finally, two bags containing the money were being taken up to Motijheel from Islampur through a microbus. When the microbus reached at Babubazar, persons up to speed the microbus found that one of the bags went lacking. There were Tk 80 lakh in the bag.
The authorities official said process was going to file a case with Kotwali Police Station in this regard. Several persons including protection personnel of the lender were detained and becoming questioned. They said most likely somehow the bag fell at somewhere else. Their statements cannot be verified yet. Law enforcement is investigating the problem.
