N95 masks scam: Aparajita International owner Sharmin held
The Detective Branch (DB) of Police have arrested Sharmin Jahan, who owns Aparajita International, on charge of supplying fake N95 masks to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Sharmin, also an associate of Awami League Central sub-Committee on Women and Children Affiars, was nabbed from city's Shahbagh area around 10:30pm carrying out a case filed by the BSMMU.
She'll be produced before a court down the road the day.
On Thursday, Proctor Mozaffar Ahmed filed the case against Sharmin, Shahbag Police Station OC Abul Hasan confirmed.
The BSMMU started giving service to coronavirus patients on July 4. Aparajita International's first and second lots mask provided to them had been flawless. However the masks those distributed on July 18 were determined fake.
