The festive season is here. Not so long ago, LCD TVs were the most popular purchase decisions just prior to Diwali. Today, customers flock to pick up that latest smartphone. But value-conscious Indians have pushed most brands to flood the market with mid-range devices with a clever mix of specs, performance and design. Fast charging, big battery, a pure Android experience and rugged design: The recently launched Moto One Power is banking on these things to stand apart. We took this device for a spin and here are our observations.
 
One, the 5000mAh battery under the hood means your device lasts longer and a 15W turbo charger fuels it up rapidly. Then there is the pure Android OS sans a all the bells and whistles because this device being part of the Android droid One programme. Running out of the box on Oreo 8.1, the Moto One Power will be one of the first to push Pie to users.

Powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor, it comes in a 4GB + 64GB RAM (expandable to 256GB) configuration. The phone is very responsive to touch, does multitasking well and design-wise, it is cozy and easy to hold. The camera modules — 16MP + 5MP at the back and 12MP in the front — are snugly integrated without causing any bumps in design. Performance-wise, the cameras are good with an Interesting bunch of pre-installed image enhancing tools.

It is in the videos that the Moto One Power scores. It claims to the first smartphone in the segment that comes with 4K video recording. This is a very useful feature that makes you feel like a pro videographer. After all, you're going to be viewing your content in super high quality so you might as well create your own 4K content.

The 6.2-inch device is available at Flipkart for Rs 15,999. With 4K video recording, good camera specs and simplistic design, the Moto Power One is a strong mid-range contender this festive season.
