Mithun hits fifty, Bangladesh 104/4 against Zimbabwe
Instead of putting visiting Zimbabwe on follow on, host Bangladesh began batting in the second innings of the second and final Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city on Wednesday.
 
Bangladesh lost early four wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das , Imrul Kayes Mominul and Haque and scored 104 runs in 32 overs.
 
Mahmudullah and Mohammad Mithun were on crease, scoring 31 runs off 51 balls and 50 runs off 91 balls.
 
Earlier on Tuesday, stumps were drawn for the third day after left-arm spinner Taijul Islam (5-107) dismissed Zimbabwe’s Regis Chakabva to complete his third consecutive five-wicket haul in the series.
 
Spin bowlers Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz dominated in the Zimbabweans first innings as the duo shared eight wickets and gave Bangladesh a 218-run lead after the third day’s play.
