Man shot dead by robbers
A trader was shot to death and three others were wounded by some robbers at Durgapur Sarker bari area in Ashulia early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abul Sarker, 55, son of Halim Sarker.
Ashulia Police Station OC Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu said a gang of robbers numbering 10/12 stormed into the house of Abu Sarker breaking window grills and kept the house inmates hostage at gun point.
Being obstructed by Abu Sarker, Robbers opened fire on them, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, they looted several tolas of gold ornaments and cash from the house.
The gang members also took away his licensed pistol.
Being informed, a team of police visited the scene and sent the body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue.
