Mahmudullah happy to prove a point
Bangladesh batsman Mahmudullah said on Friday that he is happy to prove a point in his comeback Test match while added that mental adjustment was key to his success against Zimbabwe in the one-off Test match at Harare.

Mahmudullah made a statement in Harare after returning to Test format after a 17 months gap, making  an unbeaten 150 off 278 balls, his career-best innings that gave a new lifeline to his red-ball career.

‘’It was a challenge for me to prove myself. Alhamdulillah, I'm happy to be able to support my team. I'm happy to be able to play such an innings, as contributing to the team is always a happy feeling, glad to be able to do it,’’ said Mahmudullah.

‘’The mental adjustment had come to play more than the technical adjustment, as I haven't played red-ball cricket for a while, so I was thinking how to adjust. I had thought about the bowlers, as I was measuring how much help from the seam they are taking. So I had tried according to the situation, and the batting was good, because I had a good mental stability,’’ he added.

‘’It wasn't that easy, as I was away from the red-ball cricket for about one and a half year, and I wasn't included in the Test squad before this tour, and was included later. So I had concentrated on performing if I get an opportunity,’’ he added.

Mahmudullah added that they are on a driving seat as they extended their overall lead to 237 runs.

‘’We are on the driving seat and tomorrow will determine how far we can go,’’said Mahmudullah said on Friday.
