Luka Romero, 15, becomes youngest ever Liga player
Legitimate Mallorca's Luka Romero produced history on Wednesday by starting to be the youngest person ever to play on La Liga, aged 15 years and 219 days.

After training with Mallorca's senior team for the very first time on June 1, Romero, who plays as an attacking midfielder, came on as an alternative in the 83rd minute of his team's 2-0 loss at Real Madrid.

"It had been an unforgettable second," Romero wrote on Twitter following the game.

"Thank you to everyone on the complex staff and at True Mallorca for giving me this opportunity. I'll never forget today. It had been a shame to reduce but we keep believing."

Romero beat the record held for 81 years by Francisco Bao Rodriguez, referred to as 'Sanson', who played on December 31, 1939 aged 15 and 255 days for Celta Vigo against Sevilla.

Mallorca coach Vicente Moreno was seen speaking with Romero before he brought the youngster on as an alternative.

"I tried to just retain him calm," Moreno said.

"I put my palm on his center and I could tell it had been beating very fast, which is normal for a kid of his get older. He deserved to perform and that's the reason he came on.

"We don't seem at get older. He has been training well which seemed the easiest way to increase his motivation. His an excellent player and I think in the future he'll give us a whole lot."

Romero was created in Mexico and may also take up for Spain but his relatives is Argentinian and he has recently represented Argentina in under-15 level.

"My whole family group is Argentinian and my dream is to dress in the national team's colors," Romero told the Argentinian Soccer Association in 2018.

Romero as well had trials with Barcelona but joined Mallorca in 2011.

He's left-footed and has been likened to Spanish midfielder David Silva by Mallorca's assistant mentor Dani Pendin.

After coming through the club's youth teams, he was an unused substitute against Villarreal and Leganes before finally being given his chance against Madrid.

"He's left-footed, fast, clever, mischievous, competitive ... the prototype of the Argentinian number 10," Pendin said within an interview with Spanish athletics daily As the other day.

"We have experienced him develop since he was 12-years-old, but we did not want to build him up too fast because you should look after him.

"We saw him playing, he was doing extraordinary issues in his age category, but physically he previously not quite finished his growth and that could carry him complications if he came against first division players prematurily ..

"Today, whenever we see his feet, his body, we find that he is needs to form. And the actual fact that his dad was a footballer as well helps him a whole lot."

Mallorca are actually fighting relegation in La Liga. They sit 18th, three points from safety with seven video games left to play.
