Lufthansa launches new flights to Asia
Lufthansa, the largest German carrier, increased operations to Asia launching a new service from Munich to Osaka, Japan on April 1 by extending a Frankfurt to Munich flight to Osaka.
Also from Munich, Lufthansa will add a daily connection to Bangkok starting this June.
The German airline will increase flights to Seoul from six weekly to daily out of Munich and from June onwards, Lufthansa will increase its service to Singapore from five flights a week to a daily.
Passengers can now choose between two daily flights, either with Singapore Airlines or Lufthansa.
Along with flights operated by Lufthansa and All Nippon Airways that are already established to Tokyo out of Munich Airport, the Osaka routes gives the southern German airport its second destination in Japan.
Munich Airport now ranks fifth in Europe in terms of flights to and from Japan.
Japan is one of the most important destinations in Asia – as demonstrated by the rising passenger figures and in 2018, 200,000 passengers travelled in each direction between Munich and Japan.
Asian routes are the main source of growth in intercontinental traffic in the summer of 2019.
