LGED engineer lands in jail for taking bribe
A district court has sent an engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) to jail in a bribery case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Judge of Khulna Divisional Special Judge’s Court passed the order on Wednesday (August 8) rejecting LGED engineer GM Salimullah’s bail petition.
ACC public prosecutor Khandakar Majibur Rahman told Banglanews that the court sent Salimullah to jail after he surrendered before court in a revision case.
GM Salimullah is currently serving as an LGED engineer in Fultala upazila of Khulna. ACC caught him red handed while taking bribe on duty in Koyra LGED in 2014.
Later allegation was raised for dismissing the case from a trial court through lobbying. Later ACC filed a revision case.
