Karnaphuli boat capsize: 2 bodies recovered
Bodies of two persons among the four who went missing in a boat capsize in Karnaphuli river were recovered from Naval berth-1 area under EPZ thana on Tuesday (April 9).
The deceased were identified as Akbar, 26, son of Nurul Islam of Juldha area under Karnaphuli thana and Hanif, son of Abdul Khalek of the same area.
The divers recovered the bodies from the river this morning, Nurul Huda, officer in charge of EPZ Police Station said
Members of coast guard, Navy and fire service have been continuing the search operation for other missing people, he said.
Four people went missing when the boat sank near the Dangarchar-Saltgola ghat on Sunday (April 9) night.
Fire Service and locals rescued eight people from the river on that day.
