Kareena Kapoor fits the bill
Kareena Kapoor's last release Good Newwz is a hit and the Punjabi character Deepti Batra that she played in the film too got its share of accolades along with the film doing well.
Her earlier character of Kalindi Puri in Veere Di Wedding also was popular with the chick flick going to make moolah at the box office. Her two earlier releases - Ki And Ka and Udta Punjab - both films, which continued to create money, had her obviously in Punjabi characters - Kia Bansal and Preet Sahani.
And now just as before, her look in Laal Singh Chaddha, which sees her playing a Punjabi girl deeply in love with Laal Singh Chaddha, played by Aamir Khan, has gone out. Actually, Aamir's back is seen in the brand new poster that was released by Aamir Khan on ROMANTIC DAYS CELEBRATION as Kareena doesn't have an individual social media account.
"Kareena profoundly fits the Punjabi girl character and the fact that there is very little makeup on her behalf face suggests that she actually is playing a mature character for this scene in the film.
Kareena obviously includes a younger version if indeed they have adapted the screenplay very much the same like Forrest Gump on which the film is situated," opines a business source. Interestingly, her next release Takht has her in a royal Mughal character and can well break her Punjabi streak in films.
