Jaya to play killer in psychological thriller
Acclaimed Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan will star as a murderer in the upcoming West Bengal film, "Brishti Tomake Dilam," directed by Arnab Paul.
Jaya will play the role of a jailed killer accused of four counts of murder. In the film, she is interrogated by an investigative officer, Bollywood actor Subrat Dutta, who cannot get a confession out of her. Jaya recently said in a statement: "My character suffers from split personality disorder.
She is sent to a vacation as recommended by her doctor and faces an accident there. She is then taken to the police, where she is jailed and interrogated for a long time." "I had to do a lot of scenes without any makeup at all for my character in an interrogation cell. There are some glamour sequences too," she added.
Chiranjit Chatterjee, Rajatabha Dutta, Badsha Maitra, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjib Sarkar, Nimai Ghosh, Sonali Chatterjee, Tanusree Chatterjee and many more, will star as other characters in the film.
The film's music direction is by Debojyoti Mishra and Rocket Mondol. "Brishti Tomake Dilam," slated to be released in September, was shot in Kolkata and the India-Bhutan border region of Jhalong.
